In short
- According to the AMMC, fraudsters use social media and private groups.
- They show fake gains, then block withdrawals.
- They even use fake AMMC logos and certificates.
- Checks are made on the official AMMC website, before any payment.
The scenario described by the AMMC
In its statement of September 16, 2026, reported by Le Matin, the regulator describes a scheme in several steps:
The bait
A misleading ad or post on social media promises attractive gains.
The private group
The target is invited to WhatsApp or Telegram, into a space presented as a place for discussion or advice.
Fake gains
After a first payment, the platform shows fictitious gains to push the person to invest more.
The block
When the victim wants their money back, withdrawals are blocked.
Fake fees
New payments are demanded to “unlock” the money.
Warning signs
- A high or guaranteed return: on the stock market, no gain is guaranteed.
- Pressure to decide quickly.
- “Signals” or recommendations in a private group.
- A payment to a personal account or abroad.
- Fees to pay to withdraw your own money.
- A document with the AMMC logo sent by message.

- The identity: check the person or company before any payment.

If you think you are a victim
The AMMC asks people to report the facts to it and, if needed, to file a complaint with the competent authorities. Keep the messages, transfer receipts and website addresses. Also be wary of people who promise to recover your money for a payment.
Boursimple sells no investments, manages no money and will never ask you for a payment or your login details.
Frequently asked questions
Are forex and gold trading supervised by the AMMC?
According to the AMMC, these unregulated segments are outside its direct supervision. Legal action then falls under general law.
Does a nice app prove a platform is serious?
No. A professional interface proves no licence, and displayed balances can be fake.
