A first green financing
According to the company’s statement reported by Boursenews, this is Taqa Morocco’s first green financing. The consortium brings together four Moroccan banks. The articles do not detail each bank’s share or the length of the financing.
What the project should produce
According to Le Nouvelliste, estimated output equals the consumption of 120,000 homes, and the project would avoid nearly 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year. These are estimates for a project not yet in service. The extension to 144 MW remains a later possibility.
To understand this better
- Financial close means a project’s funding is in place. It does not mean the wind farm is built.
- A megawatt (MW) measures installed power. A wind farm’s real output also depends on the wind.
- Debt financing adds repayments and interest, to set against expected income. Our guide to reading a balance sheet shows where this appears.
